Autumn colours create a beautiful backdrop for a country wedding.  

Venetia’s wedding preparation took place at her family home in Kent, where she returned with her husband and guests for their reception, after marrying in the local church.
 
Venetia’s hair was blow-dried smooth and volume added with with a few rollers from The O - a great gadget that heats velcro-style rollers in a few seconds. Both sides were were swept back and pinned to support her veil. 
 
Natural make-up was created with pinks and soft golden browns on the eyes followed by a slick of black eye-liner. Airbase foundation, a pop of peachy/pink blush and a pink cremesheen lip colour completed her look. 
 
Debbie from Artisan Hair House swept the bridesmaids’ hair into beautiful buns and it was great, as always to work with photographer, Tony Hart capturing the memories of the morning.

Visit to the Annual Trade Show - Excel, London

IMG 0403Salon International 2016The annual trade show for the hairdressing industry took place recently at ExCeL, London. It can be a shopping extravaganza, as well as a chance to watch demonstrations and attend seminars by the top names in the industry.

This year I spent most of my visit watching hair-up demonstrations gaining inspiration for my bridal work. Patrick 

Cameron (pictured) is hairdressing’s long hair guru, who’s courses I’ve attended several times, so it was great to learn his latest tips.

A visit to Salon International isn’t complete without purchasing a few items for my kit, but this year I spent so many hours watching, there wasn’t much time left for shopping. However, I did manage to bring home another wand for my kit bag.

The new Babyliss Spectrum is a flat oval shaped ceramic wand which creates beautiful natural loose waves. Great for the coming festive season, and my brides too. Interestingly, two of the styles I saw demonstrated appeared on Strictly Come Dancing the following weekend!
